Small Business Owners Want to Offer Health Care, But Can't, Survey SaysIt's probably no surprise to all you small business owners out there, but a new poll is reporting that most small businesses across the country do not offer a company health care plans for employees because it's too expensive. The recent poll, conducted by SurePayroll, a Glenview, Ill.-based online payroll service, revealed that, despite the obligation nearly 30 percent of small business respondents say they feel to offer health care benefits, more than half do not. According to survey findings, reported in the Business Journal of Milwaukee, one out of five owners recalled having at least one person turn down a job offer because health care was not included.
