Entrepreneurs Don't Have to Do Everything ThemselvesThis USA Today article about three Madison Avenue ad executives turned entrepreneurs is exactly the story that reminds people of why being a small business owner is so wonderful. Brent Bouchez, David Page and Nancy McNally were used to the good life at the cushy corporate jobs—they had corner offices, dedicated assistants, a swanky coffee bar in their building. But they gave it all up to start their own business. Now the three of them take turns buying copy paper, and they even installed their own shelving in their one-room office. Crazy, right? No, awesome. The fact that they were willing to trade in the comforts of a corporate job for the pains of starting up their own business is a testament to the fact that running your own business is the best job in the world (see yesterday's post for more on that). With that thrill, though, comes emptying the trash sometimes and other tasks that take you out of your core competencies. All small business owners are familiar with this feeling, even those who have been in business for years. The article also serves as a refresher on time management.
